2006 Chevrolet HHR

Steve Jones (Birmingham, AL)

This car was hit when it was only 6 months old. I repaired and painted left rear quarter. A year and half later the right rear door was hit; I repaired and painted it. A year later someone left a giant gooseeg parking lot dent in the driver's door. Time to repaint. I was getting tired of the black anyway.

Custom green made from two parts Mack Green (UA-31263), 1 part Wimbledon White (UA-81500) and approx 1/4 part Super Jet Black{UA-70330). Light color is Wimbledon White (UA-81500). The rest of the body is Super Jet Black {UA-70330).

All bare metal covered with ENDURO PRIME epoxy primer and PERFECT PRIME 2K Urethane Primer Surfacer.

Three wet coats of each single-stage color, painted in shop (no paint booth), then color sanded and buffed (no flaws left from dust).

Edges of color changes are minimal after sanding and buffing.

Urethane primer sands easily. Urethane top coat flows excellent (hides 220 dry sand marks).

Many thanks to Kirker Tech Support on tips for using their products.
